A Hot Summers Day One hot summer day, I walked into my stable and there I lay, not knowing what to do, I stood up and walked over to you, you pushed me away, and went over to pay, the person who had brought me. I loved you, I really did, but you sent me to the sales, where the slaughterman bid, higher than all of the rest, and there I lay, nothing more than just a pest, and then I was taken away, and as soon as I tried to neigh, you let them hit me, and you got stung by a bee. after that my fate was known, and then I left here, leaving my foal alone, so, we were slaughtered that day, and now I'm in heaven where I still play, my colt has grown into a fine young horse, but he will never really live of course. |
